Cuba

Cuba, as a travel destination, has been on my “to do” list for a long time.

The opportunity to actually go there presented early 2008 while I was heading to the Yucatan and Guatemala. So being so close, left me no option but to grab that 1 hour flight across the beautiful azure waters of the Caribbean to Habana.

So I was finally in a position to visit the places that so often conjured fantastic images in my mind.

Cuba did not disappoint! An amazing place, with old world charm, old cars and with heat and humidity that has taken toll on its concrete buildings. And the “natives were friendly”.

It was so easy to lose oneself in the laneways and streets of the city.

The journey took me to the western most point at Maria La Gorda and to the east to Che’s city, Cienfuego and Trinidad.
