Peru
For many years visiting and capturing images of Macchu Picchu was high on my “must do” list.
In October 2005 I finally had the opportunity to fulfill this long standing desire. Now, while Macchui Picchu did not disappoint, far from it, my plans were thrown into utter chaos when treacherous weather conspired with the hills which border the rail line from Cusco. A significant landslide took out a crucial section of the rail line, leaving us stranded for many hours. Being my second last day in Peru, (yes I left the best for last) my hopes of seeing Macchu Picchu were really dashed until word filtered through advising that several buses were available to take us to the other side of the land slide.
So, instead of a well planned-out 12 hour shooting expedition I was left with a 3 hour window of opportunity. There were many shots I wanted to capture but time just did not provide. At least I have an excuse to go back again…
