Bridges

A structure built to provide ready passage over natural or artificial obstacles over a gap or barrier, such as a river or roadway.

Bridges hold a particular fascination in that they provide access to what would otherwise be a difficult if not impossible task – to get to the other side.

In engineering terms there are many different methods employed to construct the bridge span.

One of my favourite structures is Melbourne’s Bolte Bridge. Its central pillars reach to the sky and the red deck provides some beautiful subtle augmentation to a colourful sunset.
